The Moscow Psychoanalytic Society (MPS) traces its history back to the year 1988, and was officialy registered in 1995. In 2005 the Society received a Study Group status from the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA). As an IPA Study Group, MPS is also a member of the European Psychoanalytical Federation (EPF). Most MPS members combine psychoanalytic practice with teaching and/or research in universities and academic institutions.
The goal of our society is to form a system of professional psychoanalytic training in Russia, and to spread psychoanalytic practice conforming to IPA standards. We are striving to create a space for dialogue between different schools and psychoanalytic cultures.
